The Lord's Closet is a 100% volunteer organization that has been dedicated to meeting the physical
and spiritual needs of the economically disadvantaged since 1989.  TLC picks up where the social
service agencies leave off, by providing to individuals and families in need, such necessities as clean,
serviceable clothes, furniture, house hold items, linens, kitchen items, electronics, computers, toys,
baby items, major appliances, medical equipment, good running cars and much more.  People come to
us with different needs and circumstances.  There are those who have lost everything from fire or
flood, are financially unstable due to illness or loss of family, or are simply struggling to support
themselves.  We also provide emotional support and a friendly countenance for people in their new
situations.  We also direct families to other agencies in their local community.

The Lord's Closet is now able to provide Gift Cards to Social Service Agencies, Helps Organizations,
churches or any other entity that provides assistance to families.

Please select the
Gift Card Program tab on the Right.

The Lord's Closet has had to change our needs assistance program.  We are now able to help families
on one of two different basis: (Vouchers from Social Service Agencies and Referral Letters)

VOUCHERS

We accept vouchers from Board of Social Serves or other agencies that provide vouchers to their
clients.  We encourage applicants to discuss eligibility with their caseworker.

Bringing your voucher to TLC is a
win - win - win situation.

The family wins by usually receiving
2 to 3 times  the furniture that you will receive by using your
voucher at a retail store.

TLC wins - by having some funds to be able to continue it's work in the community.

Referring Agency and case worker wins - because you become a hero to your client, because they
receive most of the things they need instead of just a couple of items.

At most retail stores a twin bed will cost you approximately $450.00

At TLC a standard twin bed is $ 100.00
At TLC using your  voucher you get an additional $10.00 in goods.
At TLC you still have $360.00 to buy the other things you need for your home.
At TLC when you add your 10% bonus you have $396.00 to buy other things.

Please have your case worker call us if there are any questions.  (908) 534-1777

The board of Directors of The Lord's Closet had to make another  complete change in the way we are
able to assist families.

The economic crisis in our country and around the world have caused many employers to institute
major layoffs and some companies have had to close their doors forever.   Thousands face economic
disaster as never seen before.

The local churches, businesses and individual families who support The Lord's Closet
financially play a major roll in how and to what degree we are able to assist families who are in a
crisis situation. Over the last two years financial donations have fallen dramatically, which directly
affects our ability to pay the bills and help those in need.

During times like this, the community as a whole needs to come together and make sure that the
charities remain strong and sound.  When this does not happen the charity either closes their doors
or have to make drastic changes in the services they are able to provide.  The local charities are the
life line that help families in their time of need.

The Lord's Closet started helping families in Hunterdon County in 1989 and is now getting referrals
from almost every agency in 11 Counties in Central New Jersey since 1989.

The Lord's Closet has opened a  THRIFT  STORE   in order to:

Help meet the financial needs of the ministry and keep our doors open.

Help local families 6 days a week instead of 1 day a week.

Have a tremendous selection of furniture, appliances, electronics, computers, kitchen items,
decor items, baby items, books, rugs, linens, clothing, shoes, jewelery and just about anything
you might need in a house.

The THRIFT  STORE  is only one means of income for the ministry and  by no means eliminates the
need for continued financial support from the community.

If everyone who reads this will click on the (quick $5.00) button and donate just $5.00 will help the
situation.  If you are able to donate more, please send the largest check you can today to:
