It's almost like Christmas every day at The Lord's Closet!!

Christmas in Appalachia is very different from what we are accustomed to here in New Jersey or most
of the US.  "JESUS is still the real reason for the season" and maybe more so in Appalachia then
other parts of the world.  The primary difference in Appalachia is the economy.  With almost 82%
unemployment in the area and minimum wage jobs, the joy of giving gifts is almost non-existent.  The
Lord's Closet tries to make a difference in the joy of giving for the moms, dads and children in this
part of the country.   It all starts with the love of JESUS and we try to fill in the rest.
   CHRISTMAS  IN  APPALACHIA
The Lord's Closet is a local, nonprofit, nondenominational ministry dedicated
to meeting the physical & spiritual needs of
the economically disadvantaged & invisible working poor since 1989.

The Sun Never Sets On Kingsway Ministries
When you enter the world of TLC
here in New Jersey, JESUS is the
real reason for the Christmas season
as well as every other day too.

The Lord's Closet is where
Christmas
in Appalachia
begins for thousands of
families living in coal mining country
in West Virginia and Kentucky.

TLC has been taking truck loads of
things that will make life a little
better for those living in poverty since
1992.
The Andersens and a friend make up
shoe boxes loaded with small toys,
candy, school supplies, personal
hygiene items and anything else that
will put joy in the hearts and a smile
on the faces of the children.  They
live almost 2 hours from the TLC
warehouse.  Throughout the year
they work diligently to make over 100
gifts of love for the kids in Appalachia.

Just before Christmas they load their
car and head for TLC.

May God Bless You!   THANK YOU!

The truck is unloaded and the
unpacking begins.  Thousands of toys
and gifts are sorted into different
categories.

This church is "The True Light
Church of God in Jesus Name" and is
tucked way up in the beautiful
mountains of West Virginia.

Volunteers are almost as excited as
the children are.
It takes many hours to get
everything set up.  Toys, Teen Gifts
and Adult Gifts have to be separated
into different areas.

Could you imagine being a child
and wished you could give your mom
and dad something for Christmas.

Because you have helped TLC with
this project even parents get a
Christmas Gift of Love.

May God Bless You! THANK YOU!

The work goes on for hours and
hours separating sizes of new
clothing.

Notices are going out to parents
through the school as the big hand
out day gets near.

All the boxes and newspaper used for
packing have to be cleaned up.

This is the result of a years work at
TLC collecting NEW toys and gifts
all year long, which are kept in the
storage areas of the warehouse until
December when Rev. Wally shows up
with a truck load of Love from NJ.

Brenda, Pastor Mary's
daughter-in-law, is putting some
finishing touches on the gifts.

We are ready !!!!
The big day has arrived and  families
come to where the Love of Christ
becomes real.  The reality and
excitement of giving gifts of love to
their children fills the air for
everyone.

The children come to a different part
of the church to get something for
mom and dad.  The gift that you gave
may be the first present that these
children were able to give to their
mom or dad.
   HOW  YOU  CAN  HELP

You can organize a new toy and/or new gift drive at school, work, neighborhood or church any time
during the year.  We save and store the items throughout the year for next Christmas.

Your children can organize a shoe-box project at school.  Each child can put their name and address in
the box and maybe find a pen-pal and new friend to keep in touch with.

If your children are involved in boy/girl scouting, maybe they can do a Christmas in July (or any other
month) drive at a store of your choice.  They can collect toys and gifts for someone in Appalachia.

The excitement and joy that we see in their faces is awesome.  You can't put a value on this day or any
other when we see the love of Christ touching lives and hearts, wherever it may be.

Please become part of the ultimate Christmas experience by giving a gift of love.  Your help, gifts and
dollars to support "TLC'S - CHRISTMAS IN APPALACHIA" will bring eternal joy to you and tears of
joy to those who receive one of these gifts.  THANK YOU FOR GIVING TO THE LORD!!!!
   TOYS

TLC needs toys for all ages.

Toys should be new (unwrapped).

We ask that there be no violent or demonic toys or games whatsoever.
   GIFTS FOR TEENS

Gifts for teens are something that is sometimes forgotten at Christmas as we all think about toys,
toys, toys and for the most part that is all we hear from organizations all over the country when it
comes to Christmas.

TLC does not want to forget the teens.  Ask your teens or a teen in the store where you are shopping
what they might like for Christmas.  Make sure you ask them for a gift that is less expensive then a
car or video game.

Have fun and please don't forget the teens!
   GIFTS FOR ADULTS

Here in NJ and in most of the country kids take getting something for mom and dad as just something
that happens.  They go shopping with mom for gifts for dad and vise-versa.

In Appalachia things are a little different.  There is over 80% unemployment and funds are just not
available to take the children shopping for mom or dad.

Almost everyone who reads this had a drawer or closet that has many gifts that you received and for
whatever reason never used them.  These are the thins that cost you nothing out of pocket and yet will
make the difference in a child's life in giving a gift to their mom or dad.  It's time to do some cleaning
and bring those gifts to TLC.  If you could see the other  end of this process, I know you would stand
there with tears of joy as you watch these children searching for just the right gift for their mom and
dad.
   MONETARY  GIFTS  TO  TLC

In order to help us get these gifts to Appalachia, we are asking everyone to give just $ 5.00 per box of
gifts or $ 1.00 per gift.

At this time of year every organization is spending thousands of dollars sending out newsletters,
fliers, postcards and E-mails to you asking for money.

TLC is 100% volunteer and does not bombard you with junk mail and requests for money day after
day.  Just like every business or non-profit organization, we have financial needs too.

TLC is NOT a mega-million dollar organization with paid staff, jet airplanes or unlimited expense
accounts.  TLC is your local missionary, helping local people and by God's grace and your financial
support has been here for those in need since 1989.  With your help we will continue the vital work
God has for us to do right here.

Please send the largest gift you can today to help TLC go to the next level.

Make check payable to:        The Lord's Closet

Mail to:                                    P.O. Box 603
                                      Lebanon, NJ  08833
   YOUR  GIFTS  ARE  TAX  DEDUCTIBLE

Your gifts are TAX DEDUCTIBLE and The Lord's Closet is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization.  We
will be happy to give you a receipt for all your donations.

May God continue to Bless you as you give to the Lord.
CHRISTMAS  IN  THE  MOUNTAINS  OF  TENNESSEE

Rev. Wally is in the beautiful
mountains of Tennessee where
Christmas is going to be exciting for
hundreds of children and their
families.  The Landmark school and
church sits at the top of a hill
overlooking the community below.

Below is the empty gym where the
gifts from New Jersey will be set up
and distributed to local families.

The truck is at the door, the volunteers
have gathered and a prayer of protection
and blessing lifted up to God.  Let's go to
work!

   The unloading process begins.
This young lady who came to help
unload a truck never thought that the
one thing she has wanted all her life
would be on the truck.  God knew her
heart and blessed her with a piano.

The gym starts to fill as volunteers
separate the types of items into different
sections of the gym and school

The toys are brought into the cafateria to
be set up so moms and dads can pick out
things for their children.

Progress is being made as more and more
boxes of toys are set up.

Clothing, linens, drapes, towels, pillows are
stacked as the truck is unloaded into the
gym.  Things will be separated and
displayed.

Volunteers continue to unload the truck
and some of them ask if the trailer ever
ends.  Almost the whole gym if full now.

As you can see, a lot of work has been done
to make this empty gym a wonderland of
gifts of love from New Jersey to families
who would never have an opportunity to
have many of the things that are here.

The Nativity is the real purpose and
meaning for Christmas.  As we celebrate
the birth of the savior of the world, we
need to remember that JESUS is the real
reason for the season.

Christmas at Landmark is starting to come
together.

The cafeteria is full of toys and almost
ready for parents to find that something
special for their children.

Rev.Wally stands in the middle of the once
empty gym which now only has narrow
isles to walk through.  To think that a 48'
trailer packed top to bottom and front to
back would fill the whole gym, cafeteria
and entry way is mind boggling.  Pictures
tell the whole story.

There are 150 shoe boxes filled with toys,
school supplies, candy, personal hygine
items, mittens, socks and just about
anything that would fit in the box.

This side of the gym is still being set up.
There are literally thousands of items to
be unpacked, separated and displayed.

Joy and excitement fill the air as things
are almost complete.

Dining room sets, washers, dryers, stoves,
china, decorations, baby items, computers,
clothing, sofas and just about anything that
will bless a family fill the gym from end to
end and side to side.

Look at the effort, thought and ingenuity
that went into the displays.  This place is
not only filled with gifts of love from New
Jersey, but a lot of love of Christ for the
families that will be coming into this place.

The gym is full,  the cafeteria is full and
now we are in the foyer of the school and
church.  The shoe boxes had to be by the
Christmas tree.

This little guy saw the presents under,
around and on the other side of the hall and
just had to have one.  We found on with a
tag indicating his age.
Rev. Wally would like to say a SPECIAL
THANKS to the Andersens for the love
of Jesus Christ that dwells in your hearts.

They have a special love for children and
have spent a year collecting shoe boxes,
wrapping them, looking for and buying
all the goodies that fill these boxes.

Over the years God has been able to
bless hundreds of children through your
hands.

May God continue to Bless you and your
family.

A SPECIAL THANKS TO All the volunteers at TLC:

To those  who work outside all year long unloading cars and trucks loaded with gifts of love.

To those who work on the box truck picking up larger items that people can't fit into their cars.

To those who set up tables at stores and do collections of items.

To those who sort and pack all the small items and clothing for shipment to Appalachia.

To those who load the big truck.

To those who do all the behind the scenes work

To all those who support TLC financially.

To everyone in New Jersey who have graciously given these items.

To everyone here at Landmark for loving their neighbors as themselves and for all the hours to make
this Christmas a blessing to all.

We pray that God will continue to Bless your work in the community and especially the school where
the children not only learn all the things that a school should teach but the Godly principals of life and
how we should treat each other.
                                                                          In His Service,
                                                                                  Rev. Wally

Gifts, gifts, gifts everywhere
