(that will pass inspection and do not need repair), and just about anything else in or around a home
that would bless a child or a family going through a difficult time in their lives. A fire, flood, tornado,
hurricane, bankruptcy, divorce, loss of a job or illness can devastate someone's life in a very short
time. TLC, your local missionary, is here to help.
We only accept items that are clean and in good repair.
Please make your items (GIFTS OF LOVE) for someone who is hurting. Your gifts can completely
change someone's outlook on life, society, people and God too.
Our ONLY drop off day is Saturday from 10:00 to 2:00.
We can pick up items that you cannot transport. We ask for a minimum donation to send our truck to
your home depending on where you live. This donation helps pay for gasoline, maintenance, tires
and insurance on our box truck. It now costs over $ 100.00 to fill our box truck with gas.

TLC accepts donations of all major appliances that are 10 years old or newer, clean, in good working
order and all the parts and pieces are there.
If you have an appliance that is 10 years old and you have used it excessively, please dispose of it
another way. We can NOT accept any appliance that is rusty, dirty - inside or out, or if "it only
needs - ????? "
PLEASE DO NOT BRING IT TO US.
 | | DONATIONS OF APPLIANCES | | | |
|
TLC accepts donations of toys all year long. We DO NOT accept any toys that are demonic or
violent in nature. We ask that if you would give a toy to a child and say Merry Christmas or Happy
Birthday, please bring those toys. If you couldn't say that when you give the toy, PLEASE DON'T
BRING THOSE TOYS.
Most of the toys go to children living in the coal mining regions of West Virginia and Kentucky
better known as Appalachia.
CHRISTMAS IN APPALACHIA - TLC accepts NEW toys, clothing, sneakers, hats, gloves, scarves,
boots and blankets. Please don't forget teen gifts and gifts, so the children can give something to
mom and dad. There are pictures of one of our handouts, see (Christmas in Appalachia Pictures) in
this Web site. Please get your church, school, work place or neighborhood involved in collecting
gifts for Christmas. Please give $1.00 per item to cover shipping.

 | | DONATIONS OF SOFAS / UPHOLSTERED FURNITURE | | | |
|
TLC only accepts sofas, sofa beds and upholstered furniture that are in almost show room
condition. In the furniture line, we get more sofas than any other item. Almost every other call we
receive is to donate a sofa.
If you have a sofa that has tears, wear spots, odors, burn holes,
cat pulls, broken legs, broken springs, is covered in animal hair,
faded, stained, or "it only needs - ???????"
PLEASE DO NOT BRING IT TO US.
Two solutions:
Put it out for garbage.
Put in on you front lawn by the road and put a big sign on it - FREE.
Someone might pick it up and give it a new home.
 | | DONATIONS OF BOOKS | | | |
|
TLC only accepts the following types of books:
Bibles How To Do books Small Children's books.
Christian books Cook books
NO OTHER TYPES PLEASE!!!
All books have to be clean and in good condition.

In order to maintain our warehouse, pay utilities and other expenses, keep Project Appalachia
going and cover our overhead, we must ask every family donating items to TLC, to balance your
goods with enough money to cover a portion of the costs of storing or shipping them.
The donations outlined below only cover about 30% of our actual costs.
We ask everyone, whether you drop off your items or we pick them up to make a
minimum monetary gift as follows:
(this is a gift, not a charge which makes your gift Tax Deductible)
$20.00 - for EACH major item.
Example: bed, dresser, sofa, hutch, washer, dryer, kitchen table, TV (over 27").
$10.00 - for EACH minor item.
Example: end table, coffee table, nightstand, kitchen /dining room chair,
TV stand, bike, exercise equipment (small), TV (up to 27").
$10.00 - for each large 32gal plastic bag full of:
clothing, linens, pillows, curtains, towels & washcloths, blankets, comforters.
$ 5.00 - for EACH box of various items:
This means a box or boxes that you can carry at one time.
If you need help carrying the box, because of size, please add a few dollars.
From 1989 until 2007 when the economy started slipping, donations from churches, families,
businesses and other gifts were able to pay the other 70% of our costs. In the spring of 2008 regular
donations dropped even more and our Board was faced with closing TLC. It was voted to try a thrift
store, as many other charities are doing, to try to keep The Lord's Closet in operation. We opened
TLC THRIFT STORE Sept. 1, 2008. As the economy continues to falter and the services of The
Lord's Closet are needed more then ever before your financial support is still needed more then
ever before.
(SEE THRIFT STORE for more details).
Please consider increasing your donation to keep TLC financially sound and in operation.
Your monetary gift as well as your items are tax deductible. Your monetary gifts are our primary
source of income which allows us to continue to ship your items to Appalachia as well as to store
and distribute them locally. For your convenience we accept cash, check or credit card.
The Lord's Closet has been a 100% VOLUNTEER organization since 1989 and 100% of your money
goes to the operation cost of the organization.
THANK YOU FOR GIVING TO THE LORD'S WORK AT TLC!!!!!
 | | DONATIONS OF TOOLS | | | |
|
TLC accepts donations of all types of tools that will give the families we help the means to repair
things. Most families can not afford to have someone come to their home and do these repairs.
If they had the tools necessary to do these repairs, many things that become garbage would be able
to be used again.
If you have tools that are in good condition and usable, please bless someone with these tools so they
can fix the things that are in need of repair.

working, clean and with all the accessories.
